His Royal Highness Prince Philip,                   The Duke of Edinburgh

10/06/1921 – 09/04/2021

It is with great sadness that we send this message of condolence to Her Majesty The Queen upon the death of her husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Our thoughts and prayers are with members of the Royal Family and all those touched by his passing.

Flowers:

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, sadly, Wealden District Council are not able to have a designated area for flowers and tributes but they are suggesting that people can make donations if they so wish. They understand the financial pressures of the current situation so please do not feel obliged to donate. However, for those who wish to and are able to do so, The Duke of Cambridge has launched an urgent appeal asking those who can, to donate money to the National Emergencies Trust to help local charities, distribute money and support victims in combatting the impact of the pandemic.

Further information is available at www.nationalemergenciestrust.org.uk

Book of Condolence:

Regrettably, due to the pandemic there will be no public condolence book set up at the Wealden District Council offices.  Buckingham Palace has set up an s online book of condolence which is be available on  www.Royal.uk

Church Services: Local churches are in the process of working through the practicalities of having the church buildings open so that the public may come in to pay respects in this way. We would advise contacting your local church for details.

Please visit The Buckingham Palace website to find further details about the funeral and what is happening at a national level.
