Waste Collections To Start at 6am during heat wave
Due to a Level 3 Heat-Health Alert issued by the Met Office, Wealden District Council is asking residents expecting a rubbish, recycling or garden waste bin collection this week between Wednesday 10th August and Friday 12 August to place their bins out ready to be emptied by 6am on their normal collection day or, preferably the evening before, during this period of intense heat.
To help reduce the risk to operatives emptying bins during this period where temperatures are expected to exceed 30ºC, crews will be starting work earlier than normal from 6am.
South East Water have announced a Temporary Use (Hosepipe) ban from 12th August. Click on the link below for more information.

Proposed Pedestrian Puffin Crossing
We have been working closely with ESCC to further a proposal to install a pedestrian crossing over the A267, in place of the existing uncontrolled crossing near the bus-stops. This was considered back in 2013 and the Parish Council revived it in recent years and has consulted through Parish News and a recent public meeting in March. Below is a pamphlet that explains the situation to date.
We would like to hear your views and you can contact the Clerk on firstname.lastname@example.org or on 07903 661581.

Did you know that you can sign up to receive weekly emails from Wealden District Council? The emails provide details of refuse and recycling collections, news and information about local events and council services. Wealden no longer sends out letters to notify neighbours to nearby by planning proposals. If you subscribe (for free) to receive MyAlerts, you can opt to be sent an email notification about any planning applications near your property. Visit www.wealden.gov.uk to subscribe.
